I believe that finding your purpose is essential for leading a meaningful life. Many of us, including myself, have reached a crossroads in our careers due to a lack of fulfillment. For me, this happened after years in the boardsports publishing industry and Snowboard events. I excelled in planning and coordinating, but the work felt empty. Exhaustion became common, and I wasn’t operating at my full potential. My last job ended in conflict and disappointment, pushing me toward a path of self-discovery.

This major life event led me to study psychology, initially to understand what had gone wrong and to learn about human behavior. My team and I had all acted poorly, and I needed to make sense of it. During my studies, I realized that counseling was my true calling. Everything felt right when I embraced this new direction, but the transition was disorienting and left me feeling lost for a time.

The Influence of Jung and Adler
Is astrology a modern science? No, but it has been respected by brilliant minds like Carl Jung and Alfred Adler. For those who have completed the 10-session journey of Active Rational Transformation with me, you know that Adlerian psychology includes five life tasks, one of which is the Universe, or what some call the Cosmos or Spirituality. Astrology, an ancient science, was central to Greek and Roman culture and provides a framework for exploring these existential questions. As singer-songwriter Dua Lipa said, “I don’t have a therapist; I have an astrologer.” I believe having both is even better.

Astrology Approaches
Astrology offers various approaches, each providing a different perspective. Sidereal and tropical astrology view the zodiac from a geocentric standpoint, where Earth is the central point of reference. Heliocentric astrology uses the Sun as the focal point. Psychological astrology, however, explores the intricate connections between cosmic movements and the human psyche. I’m fascinated by how astrology deepens my understanding of the subtle influences that shape our lives, both individually and collectively. It’s an expansive field, and I’m grateful to be immersed in it.

Supporting Your Child’s Future
We’re all aware that we’re entering a new world where new jobs will emerge, and intelligence will be redefined. This unknown future is already familiar to our children, who seem to have an innate sense of what lies ahead. They’re living in a future we are just beginning to comprehend, truly a step ahead of us.

I am convinced that now, more than ever, it’s crucial for children to be clear about their life purpose. They will find success and stability if they truly understand who they are and what they’re capable of. However, it’s important that they are not conditioned or misunderstood by parents, schools, or society to become something they are not. This only distracts them from their true purpose.

Beyond the Limitations of Psychology
As a counselor, I’ve often advised parents to support their children’s visible talents and encourage their growth. From an Adlerian perspective, talents are often developed as children strive to find their place within their family or peer group. For example, one child may excel in math while another shines in languages as they seek to distinguish themselves.
However, I now realize that these talents, which develop under pressure, may not reflect a child’s true potential. This can lead to situations described above, where children become highly skilled in their work but feel unfulfilled. Eventually, they may realize that something needs to change for them to find happiness.

This clarity enables you to support your child from an early age, starting as young as 2 years old. And if your child is older or already a teenager, it’s never too late to help them reach their full potential by aligning with their authentic talents.
